Are you using any of the various online pet pharmacy companies for your pet's prescriptions? You may have noticed that here at Pinion Veterinary Hospital, we do not work with any online pharmacy. We will gladly write up a prescription that you can submit to any pharmacy you choose. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes our clients, but we do have our reasons.
We can assure you that any prescription or non prescription medication you purchase from us has been inspected and approved by the FDA and has been manufactured and packaged in the United States according to government regulation.
Many companies will only honor product guarantees when the product has been prescribed and purchased at your veterinarian's office. Purchases from other unauthorized distributors; for example online pharmacies and mail-order catalogs, will not qualify for any guarantees.
We pass on any manufacturers' promotions and/or rebates, which could mean more savings. Currently, here at Pinion Veterinary Hospital, we have rebates for these medications:
Prescription pet food? Don't forget to ask us at the front desk if we have any qualifying coupons for your particular diet!
Please call our office at (775)851-4218 if you would like to order your medication from us and we will prepare it for you. We can also submit your prescription to Costco for you. A Costco membership is not required to visit the pharmacy! Or, if you still prefer, we will gladly provide you with a written prescription to fill anywhere you like. Please keep in mind when taking home a written prescription from us, that it is your responsibility to mail/fax/email your own prescription in. We DO NOT participate and/or work with online pharmacies. Hopefully this article has explained sufficiently why.
If your pet has a reaction to any medication, you can call us for help during regular business hours, and Animal Emergency Center after hours at (775) 851-3600. Having the name of the medication, milligrams of the medication, amount suspected that was ingested, and time of ingestion will be extremely helpful to proceed with caring for your pet's needs.
Thank you from all of us at Pinion Veterinary Hospital for your understanding.
